Former Angel Bert Blyleven is apparently writing some for NBC Sports. In that capacity, he’s picked the Angels to win the AL pennant.
Bert was always known for his big curveball, and defying baseball’s experts by picking the Angels to win the AL could easily be construed as a curve of sorts.
Blyleven likes the Angels’ strong pitching staff, stable defense, “productive enough offense,” and the fact that they are “so fundamentally sound.”
You could say that Bert’s still pitching for the Angels.
