Plan F In Effect

Well, with all of the money the Angels saved by not signing front-line free agent bats, they have found themselvs able to add Brian Fuentes, inking the left-handed reliever to a two-year deal (with a third year club option), worth $17.5 million.

Fuentes goes just where he wanted and the Angels have another left-hander in the bullpen. We’re not sure if this means that Fuentes will be the full-time closer or whether the Angels will now be one of those “closer by committee” teams; we’ll know more in about 60 days or so, when spring training starts to heat up, though early reports would seem to indicate that he’ll be the full-time closer.
