Looking Light

Where will the Angels’ offense come from in 2009? Still not clear.

With 15 players having been born in the 1970’s, the squad is aging a bit too. The average age of the four starting outfielders/DH is 32.5. (New acquisition Brian Fuentes is 33, in case you were wondering).

  1. Well I have no idea where our offense is going to come from – the assumption has to be from a lot of IFs; fitness, maturity, career seasons, return to form etc.

I would really like to see Nap batting cleanup next season. He’s the only one I can see getting near 40HRs, he’ll get a lot of pitches to swing at behind Vlad and in front of Hunter and many teams probably still think he’s young and unproven. Nap at 4 is the one real offensive weapon worth betting on.

Nice blog btw, added to my iGoog.
