Hernandez Singles

Anderson Hernandez has bailed out Erick Aybar, singling home a run to put Licey up 3-2.

Runners on second and third, one out, with a break in the action for an argument with the home plate umpire about a call that wasn’t even close.

They argue differently in the DR, apparently, with all six umpires at the plate, in various levels of participation.

And, seriously, the play wasn’t close at all. [Update – After seeing the replay about a million times, the play was closer than it looked live. ]

Ten minutes, and one pitching change, later and they’re still arguing.

Ground out, fly out, inning over.  After five complete, Licey 3, Gigantes 2.

The inning should have been much bigger for Licey if not for Erick Aybar’s inept bunting and a great catch by Gigantes centerfielder Victor Mendez to end the inning.
